A 3-Hour Live CE Workshop

Presence in Psychotherapy:
Cultivating the Therapist's Most Essential Clinical Skill

While therapeutic modalities continue to evolve, one factor consistently influences clinical outcomes across approaches: the therapist's capacity to remain present. This experiential workshop explores therapeutic presence as a foundational clinical skill that supports attunement, emotional regulation, and a stronger therapeutic alliance.

Participants will examine the distinction between "doing therapy" and "being with" clients, learning how presence can reduce the impulse to over-direct, rescue, or prematurely solve problems. Through didactic instruction, guided experiential practices, reflective exercises, and discussion, participants will explore how their own nervous system, self-awareness, and embodied attention influence the therapeutic relationship.

Grounded in mindfulness-informed practice, interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, somatic awareness, and transpersonal psychology, this workshop offers practical tools clinicians can immediately integrate into their work with individuals, couples, and groups.

Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of therapeutic presence as a clinical intervention, along with practical strategies for cultivating greater awareness, regulation, and attunement in everyday psychotherapy practice.

Apply presence-based principles in ethical psychotherapy practice.
